What’s cooking this year at the Taste of Tzaneen Food and Arts Festival?
Things are already heating up at the IINFO Office in Tzaneen where things are starting to fall in place beautifully for this year’s Taste of Tzaneen Food and Arts Festival.
This annual event will again be hosted at Fairview Hotel in Tzaneen, from Thursday 31 October to Saturday 2 November 2019
A super exciting program with an interesting variety of activities and attractions are in the hotpot this year, which will include visual art, theatre, dance and musical productions, discussion platforms, historical and cultural tours and exhibitions, cooking competitions and demonstrations, and then the ever so popular wine tasting meander, artisan food and beverage, craft and hobby stalls and exhibitions, delicatessen, cheese, clothing and jewellery, interior and exterior décor, live music and much more !
The Rotary Beer Garden and Lions Potjiekos Competition promise not to disappoint!
New events include “The Generals Evening”, where Roger Webster, well known historian, writer and radio presenter will share his most interesting knowledge about the Anglo Boer War, the Boer Generals and the rich history of the Anglo Boer War in our area.
Then the Limpopo Chefs Academy in conjunction with the South African Chefs Association will be launching the Info Young - Chef competition at the Taste of Tzaneen Food and Arts Festival this year and for fun and entertainment a drumming session on Friday night with fire dancers will all provide lots of excitement to the festivities !
A Grand Opening Ceremony will take place on Thursday afternoon, 31 October , which will be followed by a unique evening conducted by the Tzaneen Community Forum where special awards will be handed over to nominated individuals in the community who are rendering extraordinary services to people in need, or who is making a difference in the community .
A Summer Ball, which will comprise of a cocktail and dance will follow the formalities of the awards evening, and everyone will be able to socialize and enjoy the rest of the evening in a festive spirit. Tickets will be available to the public for this not to be missed event, and the income will be utilized for the donations towards the winners of the competition.
